OUR GOAL

Our Initiative is aimed at reaching and impacting Ten Million people within the next five years on Climate Change restoration, mitigation, and adaptation by entrenching Sustainability in the Natural and Built environment.

Sustainable Green Environment (SGE) Initiative an incorporated Non-Governmental Organisation with its head office situated in Lagos State, Nigeria, West Africa, is a community of young people and professionals trained to become internationally recognized sustainable professionals.

Sustainable Green Environment Initiative (SGEi) is a leading NGO in West Africa, dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability, regenerative agriculture, sustainable energy, and community resilience through capacity building, nature-based solutions (NbS), and ecological restoration. SGEi empowers marginalized communities, especially youth and women, by improving livelihoods through green enterprise and sustainable development initiatives.

Within the next five years, our Initiative is going to train and support ten thousand young people and professionals from different industries across Africa to raise, drive and coach hundreds of individuals each on how to create awareness and execute projects that will connect the essentials of green environment, with keen attention on sustainability and possible ways to adapt to the changes in our environment.

We believe that ignorance of the modalities and benefits of driving an effort towards sustainable environment is a major cause of the resistance to the adoption of green environment in the African countries.

We have four (4) holistic approaches with the acronym CARE;
  • C – Collaboration (with organizations and companies in various industries and sectors)
  • A – Action (Organized programs and projects)
  • R – Research (publish research work based on data generated via monitoring and evaluation, preparation and presentation of papers for and in organized conferences)
  • E – Education, Training and Funding (Impartation of knowledge and funding of worthy Eco-friendly ideas.

SGEi has various training and certification programs for companies, organizations, and individuals  and also programs that recognise those who have made significant contributions to sustainability and environmental protection. The program aims to incentivize sustainable practices and promote environmental stewardship.

These events provide opportunities for networking, sharing of ideas and best practices, and collaboration and till date over 1200 people have been recorded to be part of it while over 12,000 people have been reached.
