Anyways we spent our Friday at the Global WE discussing climate change as usual and this time it was a very insightful experience as we connected with Jo’burg, South Africa portal. We had a lot of climate change activists and enthusiasts on board. We started off by introducing ourselves and getting to know each other. It is a fact that indoor air pollution from cooking with solid fuels including wood, charcoal, coal, animal dung, and crop waste in open fires and traditional stoves is the fourth leading cause of death in the world, after heart and lung disease and respiratory infection.  One would think it would be easy to appreciate the benefits of switching from traditional stoves that use kerosene, firewood or cow dung to clean cooking fuels and stoves. Women and young girls often walk for hours to gather firewood or buy other solid fuels and haul it all back home in time to cook a simple meal.
