Dr Sanmi Olowosile

Meet Amb (Dr.) Sanmi, a visionary leader with a passion for sustainability and a voice for climate action. With a background in construction and environmental management, he has dedicated his life to bridging the gap between industry and the environment. He holds numerous degrees and certifications in sustainability, including Doctorate degree in Sustainable Growth from Commonwealth University College (Honoris Causa), ISO 14001:2015 – Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and ISO 45001:2018 – Occupational Health & Safety management systems.

As the Chairman of the Sustainable Green Environment Initiative and the President of the African Network of Green Ambassadors, Sanmi is at the forefront of the fight against climate change. He has published researches on Sustainable Construction and has been a keynote speaker at international conferences. He is also a Fellow of the African Network of Green Ambassadors, a Certified Ambassador by Climate Change Africa Opportunities, and a registered member of various professional organizations, including the Green Building Council of Nigeria, Quantity Surveyors Registration Board of Nigeria, the Nigerian Institute of Management, and the Nigerian Institute of Classic Entrepreneurship.

In addition to his professional achievements, Amb. Sanmi is also a thought leader and mentor to over 500 young professionals across 26 African countries. He is a constituency member of the United Nations Major Group for Children and Youth, the Commonwealth Youth Climate Network, and the African Network of Young leaders for peace and Sustainable Development. He is also an advocate for digital construction and a member of the Green Building Council of Nigeria and Building Information Modelling Africa.

But behind this impressive resume lies a truly inspiring story. Amb. Sanmi is a lover of music, with a talent for playing the trumpet and the keyboard. When he’s not on a construction site or speaking out for climate action, he can be found playing beautiful melodies, showcasing the power of his musical activism. He lives his life by the mantra, “Acting 4 Nature,” and we can all be inspired by his commitment to making the world a better place, one note at a time.
